The Recycling Division is actively involved in recycling as mandated by the state’s Select Committee on Recycling and Environment (SCORE). This program is unique in that it is city operated, but funded from a State SCORE grant. Our focus is on residential and small business recycling and our programs are set up to help each with every aspect of recycling and waste reduction.
Phones are NOT answered on Saturdays at the Drop Off site. Please call during the week for regular staff.
The Recycling Center will be closing at 7:00 pm Tuesday and Thursday through the end of the month due to lack of daylight. Winter hours go into effect 10/1/2018.
Changes to the Recycling Center as of Oct. 1, 2017
Effective October 1, 2017, the Coon Rapids Recycling Center no longer accepts fluorescent bulbs. Take fluorescent and HID bulbs to the Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste Facility. There is no charge to drop off bulbs.
The layout of the Recycling Center will change slightly. Watch for sorting areas to be moved to new locations and sorting methods may be slightly different. Our staff will be happy to assist you with these new changes!
