Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

The Coon Rapids Fire Department responds to over 4500 medicals calls every year. Our firefighter/ EMTs arrive to calls with an average 4 to 5 minute response time after being dispatched by Anoka County Central Communications.

Firefighters carry life-saving equipment so they can perform many procedures such as providing an airway, starting an IV, bleeding control, extrication, delivering a baby or simply bringing comfort to someone in need. Every month our staff participates in medical training, educational drills and hands-on practice.
