ERAF_NF

Reimbursements are now available to businesses for some costs related to accommodating an employee who has a disability. The new program from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is called the Employer Reasonable Accommodation Fund (ERAF).

The fund is designed for small to mid-size companies looking to hire those with disabilities. If an employer makes certain accommodations, the business may qualify for reimbursements up to $30,000 a year.

Qualifying accommodations include (but are not limited to):

  • Captioning services.
  • Ergonomic workstations/seating.
  • Signage.
  • Specialized software.

In order to be eligible, businesses must employ 500 workers or less and generate no more that $5 million in gross annual revenue. The program is available until June 30, 2025.
